We found out about you on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Your dad called me from Afghanistan and asked me to take a pregnancy test, so I did.

And guess what!? It said you were in there!!

This is the story of you in my tummy...

31 weeks

This week was very exciting. Your dad got to see you on the big screen for the first time!!
{foot}

{your face}

I still cannot believe how crammed you are into that tiny space. And how big you have gotten since the first ultrasounds I had. Your dad was excited to see you.

We also went camping this week for Thanksgiving. Everyone thought I was crazy for sleeping on an air mattress in a tent at 31 weeks pregnant, but it really wasn't that bad. Here are some pictures of me this week:

28 weeks

Today you are 28 weeks. We are officially in the 3rd trimester! Wow, I can't believe it. And you've gotten oh, so big. Here are a couple pictures from an ultrasound we did this morning:

Chinese Cabbage Pictures, Images and Photos

You are now the size of a head of Chinese Cabbage and you weigh over 2 pounds!! And I know you do, because just 8 weeks ago you were already over a pound. Stop growing so fast already! Your eyelids are also starting to open this week. You can see light so I put a flashlight to my tummy to see what you would do and you kicked me! They also say that you are dreaming at this point because of your brain development. Thats is so cool. I wonder what you dream about considering you haven't been exposed to anything other then the womb...

And here's me this week:

20 weeks!!

We are officially half way and to celebrate I had an ultrasound at the Scripps Radiology department (well, not really to celebrate, it's just required). Here are some of the pictures. Their ultrasound machine is so incredibly clear! I couldn't believe how well I could see you.

You kept opening and closing your mouth, as if you were yawning. And your little hands were up near your face. The tech couldn't get a good shot of your feet because they were moving so much and I could feel it the whole time! And my favorite part was when she showed me your heart and we watched it beat. It was so clear and so incredible. She said your heartrate was 153 bpm and very strong!!

Oh, and she said you already weigh 1 pound, which mommy is not excited about.. you should only be weighing about 9 ounces. So, that means you are a big guy or you're farther along than everyone thinks.

The tech said that you are very photogenic and said she could sit and watch you all day.. so could I!!

18 weeks

Yay! I got to see you yesterday!

You have gotten SOOO big. You are all folded up inside my tummy. It doesn't look like you have much room to move in there, and I know that space will just keep getting smaller and smaller for you.

We confirmed (again) that you are definitely a boy! I sent of picture of it to your dad and he was very proud, as any father would be.
You've also been moving around in there quite a bit. Last night you poked me (probably a foot) so I poked you back and you poked me back again! It was fun to interact you with. I can't wait to do more of that.

Jamie says that your head is measuring 20 weeks, so either you have a big head or you're a little bit older than we first thought. We'll find out for sure when I go in on Sept 7 for the BIG ultrasound. They will measure all your limbs, head, check your organs and heartbeat to make sure everything is going well.

And here is what I look like this week:

Doesn't look much different from last week, but I think it's because you slowed in growth a little bit this week.

15 weeks

This week I had an ultrasound done and you were sucking your thumb! I see that you've already developed one bad habit... Ben said you must have gotten it from him. Either way, it is super cute:

Here's what I look like this week. I can tell there is a "baby bump" but I don't think it's very obvious to anyone else yet:

14 weeks

Jamie scanned my tummy today and you were waving!! You are 14 weeks and 2 days. Since you held up 4 fingers she thought it would be appropriate to write "look, i'm 4 months!" (which you actually won't be for a few more weeks, but who's counting?):

And another one:

This week we also went to the zoo and got alot of exercise!! Here are some pictures of me this week:

12 weeks

12 weeks!! We are officially at the end of the first trimester. You are getting big quick. According to the book, you have doubled in size over the past 3 weeks! In this picture you have your little legs crossed and I think you're waving hello:

You are so beautiful! I can see all the features of your face; you nose, mouth, where your eyes are. Your finger nails are starting to grow, your body is already producing its own hormones, and you are moving! But, I can't feel you yet. But soon I'm sure, because you move alot! When we turned on the ultrasound machine and Jamie pressed on my tummy, you bounced around quite a bit.

11 weeks

Here you are at 11 weeks. I can see your head and your arm and your leg. You have gotten SOOO big since we saw you just 2 weeks ago! I can't believe how fast you grow. The pregnancy book says that you are about the size of a lime right now. And, you still have a little bit of a tail (which I can see in your picture :)

I had this ultrasound done because I was a little bit worried about you. But sometimes I'm just a little nuts. Your hearbeat was somewhere around 150 bpm, which is really strong and healthy.

9 weeks

I visited the doctor for the first time on June 21. You were 9 weeks then. I saw you for the first time! You were SOOOO tiny!! Take a look:

It was so exciting to see you, and your little heart beating (that is MY favorite part). And while the doctor was scanning, you were moving around! She said, "Oh my gosh, you have to see this".. moved the screen toward me and you were moving your little teeny tiny arms! It was incredible.

I scanned this picture right away and sent it to your dad so he could see you too. We are excited to watch you grow. And we already love you!
