We found out about you on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Your dad called me from Afghanistan and asked me to take a pregnancy test, so I did.

And guess what!? It said you were in there!!

This is the story of you in my tummy...

23 weeks

Yesterday we entered week 23! Here are some shots of my belly:

At this point the pregnancy book says that you are basically gaining weight and growing from this point on. Most everything about you is already developed, you just need some more time to grow before we can meet you!

As for me, some new developments have been late night leg cramps (ouch!!), I am thirsty ALL the time, and my tummy is starting to get in the way. But other than that, I feel great. I've been really trying to eat well so that you get all the nutrients you need and I've been working out to keep us both healthy.

See you in 17 weeks!! I can't wait :)

22 weeks

I haven't had many ultrasounds done lately, although I'll be doing a 3-D one with Jamie next week. So here are just some more pictures of me. This week was the prayer dessert for the PRC banquet coming up in October. I was going to wear this, but changed my mind right before I left. But I did snap a few shots before I changed:

This week you have been moving a lot... even more than before. And you must be getting big because so am I! You are now the size of a spaghetti squash. Your tooth buds are beginning to develop this week (altho the thought of teething is not fun) and your eyes are completely formed, but your irises still don't have pigment yet.

I also started reading about the childbirthing exercises I'll be doing during your birth. There is so much to practice and get done before you get here! I made a list of things that I know need to be done (and I'm sure I'm missing a lot):

-tour hospital and meet nursing staff

-write my birth plan

-register for all your stuff!

-infant CPR and first aid class

-diapering class

-breastfeeding class

-hypnobirthing review class with your dad

- practice practice practice birth exercises!

21 weeks

Here are some pictures of mommy at 21 weeks.. all of them were taken on my wonderful vacation to Hawaii:

(Sorry this one is a bit blurry)

Oh and I bought you something!!:

You are becoming quite the little traveler already! This was your 7th and 8th time on an airplane, and I'm not sure if you liked it. During take off both times you were moving around quite a bit!

We spent a lot of time at the beach, went to a luau, went snorekling, ate LOTS of yummy food, explored Chinatown, played mini-golf, and got plenty of exercise walking around. I'm sure you had a wonderful time ;)

20 weeks!!

We are officially half way and to celebrate I had an ultrasound at the Scripps Radiology department (well, not really to celebrate, it's just required). Here are some of the pictures. Their ultrasound machine is so incredibly clear! I couldn't believe how well I could see you.

You kept opening and closing your mouth, as if you were yawning. And your little hands were up near your face. The tech couldn't get a good shot of your feet because they were moving so much and I could feel it the whole time! And my favorite part was when she showed me your heart and we watched it beat. It was so clear and so incredible. She said your heartrate was 153 bpm and very strong!!

Oh, and she said you already weigh 1 pound, which mommy is not excited about.. you should only be weighing about 9 ounces. So, that means you are a big guy or you're farther along than everyone thinks.

The tech said that you are very photogenic and said she could sit and watch you all day.. so could I!!
