We found out about you on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Your dad called me from Afghanistan and asked me to take a pregnancy test, so I did.

And guess what!? It said you were in there!!

This is the story of you in my tummy...

40 weeks

You were born this week! We welcomed you to the world on January 25, 2011 at 6:17 am. You weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and were 20 inches long. You are absolutely beautiful and amazing. I can't believe the wait is over and I'm SO glad it is. You were so worth it.

Here you are:

39 weeks

1 more week to go (hopefully)!!

Your dad and I have been walking so much! We are trying everything to get you out. I'm really uncomfortable at this point and we really want to meet you! I pretty much don't sleep at night because I have to pee so often and because I'm constantly flipping from side to side.. my hips hurt at night.

We went to the doctor (again) this week. She checked me and said I'm about 1 cm dilated and 30% effaced. I don't expect you to come for a little while, and she thinks you'll be late, but we can still hope!

(I pretty much wore this outfit every day this week. It's the only shirt left that's long enough to cover my whole tummy and the only pair of pants that stay up)

38 weeks

We're still impatiently waiting for you! I finally got around to packing our hospital bag (well most of it anyways). Everything is pretty much ready for you: your room is done, we have plenty of diapers and wipes, and the carseat is in. The only thing missing is our tiny little baby.

I've just been having lunch with friends, going to growth groups and cleaning to pass the time. We're trying really hard to keep the apartment clean because we know that anytime your grandmas will be heading out here. They are just waiting for THE call.

Here's a picture of my this week:

37 weeks

3 more weeks to go!!

This week your dad and I met your pediatrician. We're pretty sure she thinks we're crazy! But probably for good reason. We won't be having the hospital perform your newborn screening test and so we discussed with her our other options. Turns out, Baylor University in Texas will do the test if we get the samples and have them sent over. So that's what we'll be doing!

I also had a routine OB appointment with Erin this week. Your heartbeat sounded normal and I'm still measuring right on! She said that you are "sunny side up" which means you're face up. We prefer you to be face down so I don't have back labor and so you come out easier. So please flip! I'll be visiting the doctor every single week from now until you are born (so hurry up because I hate peeing in a cup every week!)

And here is a picture of you in my tummy this week:

This week we also had some maternity photos taken by our friend Bethann. Here are some of my favorites:

36 weeks

This week we finally finished up your room!! I am so excited that it's done (well, almost. there are still a few things here and there to finish up). Your dad and I worked on it for a while. Here are some fun pictures, although you'll see it yourself soon enough :)

This week was also New Years Eve. Your dad and I went out to dinner. Here are some pictures of us:

As for you, you are now considered full term. Yay!! You weigh around 6 pounds, which I can really tell!

35 weeks

We spent the week in Las Vegas for Christmas. We also attended our second baby shower. All the family was there so of course we got so much stuff!! I think we've gotten almost everything we've registered for, which will make life so much easier when we get home! Thank you to everyone who came. I had a wonderful time!

Here are some fun pictures from the shower:

34 weeks

Only 6 more weeks to go! We had a doctor's appointment this week and from now on we'll be going every other week instead of every 4 weeks (which seems a little excessive, but oh well.. I get to hear your heart beat every time :)

Other than that there isn't a whole lot going on. We're just getting ready for Christmas around here and I'll be flying out to Vegas this week for our second baby shower (you really are already spoiled!). This will be your 9th time on a plane! Wow, you are quite the little traveler already!

Here is what I look like this week. My tummy just keeps getting bigger and bigger:
