We found out about you on Friday, May 14, 2010.

Your dad called me from Afghanistan and asked me to take a pregnancy test, so I did.

And guess what!? It said you were in there!!

This is the story of you in my tummy...

36 weeks

This week we finally finished up your room!! I am so excited that it's done (well, almost. there are still a few things here and there to finish up). Your dad and I worked on it for a while. Here are some fun pictures, although you'll see it yourself soon enough :)

This week was also New Years Eve. Your dad and I went out to dinner. Here are some pictures of us:

As for you, you are now considered full term. Yay!! You weigh around 6 pounds, which I can really tell!

35 weeks

We spent the week in Las Vegas for Christmas. We also attended our second baby shower. All the family was there so of course we got so much stuff!! I think we've gotten almost everything we've registered for, which will make life so much easier when we get home! Thank you to everyone who came. I had a wonderful time!

Here are some fun pictures from the shower:

34 weeks

Only 6 more weeks to go! We had a doctor's appointment this week and from now on we'll be going every other week instead of every 4 weeks (which seems a little excessive, but oh well.. I get to hear your heart beat every time :)

Other than that there isn't a whole lot going on. We're just getting ready for Christmas around here and I'll be flying out to Vegas this week for our second baby shower (you really are already spoiled!). This will be your 9th time on a plane! Wow, you are quite the little traveler already!

Here is what I look like this week. My tummy just keeps getting bigger and bigger:

33 weeks

This week your dad and I visited the hospital to see exactly where you will be delivered. The labor and delivery area is very nice and it sounds like the nursing staff is open to helping me labor naturally. Yay! All the rooms are private so it'll be just you, me and your dad. And you will be rooming with us the entire time- none of that staying in the nursery with all the other babies thing that they used to do in the old days.

We are getting more excited as each week goes on. It seems like there is still so much to do to prepare for you, but slowly it's all coming together.

I also made an appointment to meet with your potential pediatrician this week. We'll see her the first week of January. I hope it goes well! She is open to working out a modified vaccination schedule, which is why we chose her. I just want the best for you.

This week you weigh about the heft of a pineapple- 4ish pounds. Here is what you look like in the womb:

32 weeks

Not much to report this week. I had a doctor's appt this week and I took your dad with me to meet Erin, Dr Brody's Nurse Practitioner. She might be the one to deliver you. We learned that you still haven't flipped, but hopefully you will soon! I can't imagine how uncomfortable it must be to lay sideways like you have been. But you are probably just stubborn like me. When you're ready, you'll turn.

We also finally found you a dresser this week. I'm so excited to see the finished product. Your dad is outside sanding it right now so that I can paint it to match your cute baby room. We've also been doing a lot of cleaning and decorating in your room this week. Here is what it looks like so far (lots to do still):

Here are some pictures of what I look like this week as well:

31 weeks

This week was very exciting. Your dad got to see you on the big screen for the first time!!
{foot}

{your face}

I still cannot believe how crammed you are into that tiny space. And how big you have gotten since the first ultrasounds I had. Your dad was excited to see you.

We also went camping this week for Thanksgiving. Everyone thought I was crazy for sleeping on an air mattress in a tent at 31 weeks pregnant, but it really wasn't that bad. Here are some pictures of me this week:

30 weeks

This week you are 30 weeks!! Only 10 more to go.

We attended our lovely baby shower this week; hosted by Jamie Hay- friend and personal ultrasonographer :) It was so beautiful! The event was held in her backyard. Decorations included fresh flowers, homemade cupcakes with blue frosting, lots of boats and sea shells and an actual sailboat! We walked into her home and your grandma asked her, "where do we put the gifts?" to which Jamie replied, "in the boat." My eyes lit up. I was so excited!

You got so much stuff baby boy! You now officially have more Charger gear than me. And I'm very excited to tell you that you now have a place to sleep when you get here. It's the most adorable Moses basket. And it's so small.. because you are so small! I can't wait to put you in it :)

In other exciting news... your daddy came home this week!!! Actually, he came home the same day as our baby shower. It was the perfect day. Now we are together as a family and we have been working hard to get things ready for you around the apartment. You know, for such a small person, you have so much stuff! But it's all so fun and exciting.

And for fun, here is a picture of my belly this week:

See you soon. We love you!

29 weeks

I cannot believe how soon you will be here. Althought right now I am just enjoying feeling you move around all the time. Sometimes your little foot or elbow or knee will poke out. I can't wait for your dad to get home so he can feel it too. It's so wonderful!

Chinese Cabbage Pictures, Images and Photos

You are now the size of a head of Chinese Cabbage and you weigh over 2 pounds!! And I know you do, because just 8 weeks ago you were already over a pound. Stop growing so fast already! Your eyelids are also starting to open this week. You can see light so I put a flashlight to my tummy to see what you would do and you kicked me! They also say that you are dreaming at this point because of your brain development. Thats is so cool. I wonder what you dream about considering you haven't been exposed to anything other then the womb...

And here's me this week:

This week you are 26 weeks.

We went to a breastfeeding class on Monday night. I want to make sure that you get all the nutrients you need after you're born. It was very educational!

25 weeks

These pictures were actually taken when you were 25weeks 6days.. but still within the 25 week bracket. I'm getting bigger:

This week I took a child and infant CPR/first aid class. I want to be as prepared as possible for anything that could happen having a baby (you) around the house! I'm not used to being responsible for someone else's life. It's a little intimidating.

I've been slacking a little bit on practicing my relaxation exercises for birth. But I plan to work on that a lot this week. Once I get into a schedule I'll be fine. My plan is to practice twice a day and it will be better when your dad gets home so we can do it together.

As far as your growth goes, it's the same as before. You are just getting a little bit bigger each and every day... and I can tell because my tummy is getting bigger too!! We went to the doctor this week and I got to hear your little heartbeat. The nurse midwife in my OB's office said she would deliver you as long as it's during the hours she works. So she said, "don't go into labor on a Thursday".. so I'm passing that information onto you Isaac ;)

And of course, I got you some more clothes this week. They had so much extra clothing at the PRC and Toni said I could take what I wanted. So, I got you a tiny little shirt that says "Nevada" and has a boat on it.. mostly because I knew your dad would appreciate it.

Anways, we love you and can't believe how close we are to seeing you. Can't wait <3

a note

dear baby Isaac,

i haven't written to you in a while. i just wanted to tell you that i am madly in love with you and you're not even here yet! and one more thing, what the heck are you always doing in there? sometimes you just go, go, go for hours! like you're kick boxing with someone or wrestling. either way, it seems like you are entertaining yourself, which is good. if i were you, i'd be so bored in there all by myself. that's why sometimes i play with you. i like to shake you around and you always kick back! maybe you don't like that? :)

i have been doing so much around here lately in preparation for you. i signed up for a breastfeeding class and infant CPR. i want to make sure i'm prepared in case of an emergency! i've also been collecting a lot of clothes for you. you definitely won't be without in that area! i hope you don't mind that they're practically all hand-me-downs or from the thrift shop. you'll just have the same style as mama. i also went and registered for all the stuff i want for you: diapers, bed sheets, pacifiers, a thermometer, you know, the exciting stuff.. oh and some toys too.

anyways, truth is, you'll be here before we know it. and i'm really excited to meet you face to face.

love you baby,

mom

24 weeks

Here are some pictures of me this week.. not much change from last week:

And just for fun, the pile of clothes I've already collected for you:

This week your body and face are filling out. And based on the picture in the book, you don't have much room in there! Which is why I can feel you moving all the time. Your brain is growing quickly and your taste buds are developing!
